It was perhaps the first day that really felt like summer, it was hot, it was humid, the dew point was high and it was hard to run! But run I did, just four miles, it took longer to stop sweating than it did to run the miles.
As I was running today I was reminded once again that you can't sit around waiting for ideal conditions to run, if you want to be a runner you have to run in spite of the conditions. Yes, there may be days when you don't run because the conditions are actually hazardous but those times are few and far between.
Hot, cold, rain, sleet, snow, wind we run on because we are runners and that's what we do.
As a pastor I here people all the time tell me they are waiting for the right time to share their faith, the right time to get involved in a particular ministry, the right time for this or the right time for that. The right time may never come, the time we have is the present.
If we wait for the ideal conditions in life to start something new we may never get started and we can be sure that we will miss out on much of the great adventure we know as life. Don't miss your opportunity to seize the moment, carpe deim!
